Luby’s Cafeteria at 1801 Ninth Street in Wichita Falls, Texas was founded in October 1951 as one of a number of cafeterias which bore the Luby’s name. Each of these cafeterias had as a partner a member of the Luby’s family. R.O. Luby was a partner in the Wichita Falls Luby’s along with Joe Lauck and Leroy Daniel. Over the next two years Mr. Luby and Mr. Lauck sold their interests and the cafeteria has been independently owned and operated by the Daniel family ever since.

While not a part of the Luby’s chain, we continue to honor the high standards of food preparation and customer service that have made the Luby’s name so respected. The cafeteria was originally known as Luby’s Suburban Cafeteria, because it was located on what was then the outskirts of the business district. Now, Luby’s is right in the middle of the business/medical complex of Wichita Falls.

Since 1951, Luby’s has been known for fresh, home-cooked food, prepared like you do at home, just a little bit at a time. Because of this Luby’s has acquired a good reputation not only in Wichita Falls, but also across the state. Tour groups and family vacationers make it a point to stop at Luby’s on their trips because of our food.

While Luby’s Wichita Falls has maintained its firm commitment to cooking food the old-fashioned way, we have continued to find new and better ways to serve our customers. In 1984 we added a full-service drive-thru.

In 1993 Luby’s added a 5,000 square foot banquets facility which is the base for a full-service banquets and catering division. Having served groups as large as 3,000 people Luby’s has the capability to serve our great food wherever you are in a 100-mile radius.
